you all stop by my blog.
Here's my concoction!
For those of you who are stopping by my blog for the first time, my name is Katie and I'm an avid flea market shopper, flower grower, baker, 4-wheeler-rider, auntie, depression glass hunter, horse rider, and supposedly witty quilter that likes to crochet, take pictures and write stuff that confuses people on this blog.
Was that not just a great run-on sentence????
When I'm not busy with my day job in the insurance and investing world,
Was that not just a great run-on sentence????
When I'm not busy with my day job in the insurance and investing world,
I fill in at the Calico Hutch Quilt Shop located in Hayward MN.

At the shop I lead a few clubs and occasionally teach a class.
It was working at the shop that lead me to meet Jo of Jo's Country Juntion

I've been a reader of her blog for a few years and thank her for the encouraging
conversations and leading me to create for the Moda Bake Shop.

We just returned from vacation on the Texas coast and it was great so I will say there! Hoping to get back to your shop before winter!
Lovely quilt!
On a sandy beach of Lake Superior. I love this quilt project! I recently bought the ruler so I'm hoping this will get me started.
Love the quilt! This is going onto my to do list for sure! I would have to say, my favorite place to soak up rays would be a beach in Maine. A little chilly sometimes, but quite relaxing.
Don't enter me Katie...Just wanted to say Congrats on being a Moda Bake Shop Chef!! I can't wait to come over to the Calico Hutch..it's been too long!! I was going to try to come when you were having Terry Atkinson but by the time I called Kelli to see if she wanted to go, it was full. CONGRATS! The project is great!!
Would love to be on a secluded beach in a paradise island - with no cares . . . Otherwise snuggled under the quilt with my honey. Congratulation on the honors of the Moda Bake Shop Chef.
What a beautiful quilt! Congratulations on your first Moda Bake Shop tutorial. I look forward to more. My favorite place to catch some sun would be in Fort Lauderdale....that's where we adopted our two youngest children!!
My favorite place to soak up rays has
been a family tradition for the last
28 years, at the Minnesota State fair. We spend the entire day there
outside, and even sneak in seeing the
quilts on display. Thanks for sharing such a great project, and for
the chance to win.
My favorite place is my porch. watching kittens play, chikens, the himming birds, finchs, deer, turkey, and horses babscorbitt@gmail.com
My favorite place is on the front porch...with a good book and a nice cold glass of water!
My favorite place to "soak up those glorious sun rays" is on the dock of our family's camp in New Hampshire over looking the White Mountains. It is my most favorite place to be!
I love your tutorial & am adding you to my google reader immediately! Thank you so much!
This is my first visit to your Blog, coming via Moda Bake Shop. Have to say that your Tutorial is very enticing - I don't often click on the Quilt Recipe but was drawn to your quilt right away. Have bookmarked it and hope to make it up in scrappy "greens and beige". Hope to see more from you in the future.
I try to stay out of the sun but I do like it in the early morning with my book and a cup of coffee. I love the quilt! A great twist on the popular chevron. Thanks for the chance to win :)
Congratulations on, what I'm sure will be,your first of many Moda BakeShop recipes. I know just the jelly roll I will use (unless, of course I win your giveaway :). My favorite place to soak up the sun is in south Texas, where we spend a few months each winter escaping the cold, snowy winter. But only in the late afternoon - I hide in the shade the rest of the day! I've added your blog to my Google Reader. Pam L.
Love this quilt! Gulf Shores AL can't be beat for quiet beaches, amazing beauty, and soaking some sun.
What a great quilt! The tutorial is easy to understand too. I know just the right person to make this quilt for. My favorite sunshiny place is my backyard swing. Thanks for the chance to win this great giveaway.

Right now the sun is very hot where I live so keeping to the shade. But as soon as it begins to cool... I will be outdoors everyday on our property.

Congratulations on your MBS debut!

I love this quilt. My favorite place to catch some rays is on my deck. Often you will find me there doing some handwork on a quilt.
Beautiful, thank you!
Love the quilt!I have to stay out of the sun but like it in the spring in my garden.
I am so excited to see the Calico Hutch represented on the Moda Bake shop (I have shopped there several times and it is a great quilt shop)! Congratulations. The quilt is beautiful and uses some of my favorite fabric - California Girl.
Best place to soak up the sun is my own backyard watching the kids play while reading a good book.
I'm in Arizona and its August...The sun shines here almost every day of the year!!
First of all, congratulations Katie for having your pattern on the Moda site! So proud of you!
Second, the place I love to soak up rays is Venice, Italy. LOVE the temperature, the people, the architecture. Second choice, Florence, Italy along the Arno. LOVELY! Thanks for asking, Katie.
Love the quilt. Linda gerig

My favorite place is sitting on the beach!
beautiful quilt! being a minnesota girl transplanted to new york, my favorite place to soak up the sun is the local lake. thank you!
Hi, this is my first visit to your blog and I found you via the tutorial at Moda Bake Shop. I like the pattern of your quilt which is made with very nice fabrics. I'm living in Switzerland and I like to soak up sun in the mountains (2000m altitude) preferably after skiing in winter or in summer whilst hiking. Then I'm feeling very close to the sun ;-) and sky!!
I'm a newbie. I love the design of your quilt and the bright colors (presently working on a couple of quilt projects). I would love to be on the beach taking a nice walk listing to Yo-Yo Ma :-).
At our cabin on Bone Lake in Wisconsin. Thanks for the chance to win!
Hey Katie, My favorite place to soak up the rays....walking paths in Maple Grove, MN. Thanks for the opportunity to win your moda quilt kit. Girlfriend you gotta love scrappy!!!!
Sandy
Each afternoon (if I get the chance) I sit in a small bay window in my kitchen. My kids tease me and have nicknamed it "Mom's sunny spot" Beautiful quilt - can't wait to see more from you. Thanks for the chance :)
Congrats Katie! It's beautiful! My favorite place to get the sun? On the dock, by the lake. Love it!
Your quilt is gorgeous...need to make one! I love to golf, so that is where I catch my rays, with sunscreen of course! Need to get to that quilt store too....

Favorite place to catch a few rays: Jamaica
No need to enter me in the contest.
Hey Katie! Love the quilt! Great work! I love going to my parents cabin with my family and soaking up the fun! It's there that LOTS of memories have been made :) See you at the retreat in Nov?

Congratulations on a great quilt! I love it. My favorite place to soak up the rays is Hampton Beach in NH. Actually, I sit under the umbrella while the kids ride the waves. Congrats again on your first Moda Bake Shop project and I look forward to more. :)
We don't go to the beach often at all, but I do love visiting a beach near Holland, MI a lot. It's a beautiful beach with a (not sure what they're called) long walk area that juts out into the water which you can go out onto; think it is some sort of breakway to prevent waves. It is awesome to walk out there and watch the water in the evening when the sun is just going down. Of course, there aren't too many 'rays' to catch at that time of the day. LOL
This quilt is beautiful and is another that adds to the others using the 60 degree ruler which I
still want/need so badly. I love
the way strips can be sewn together this way then cut with the 60 degree ruler then sewn back together to make such great looking quilts that appear to be so complicated.
My favorite place to get rays of sunshine is on the golf course following my boys in the tournaments they've played in since they were little tykes, and now they're in their 20's!
